A new video shows a woman was left precariously dangling from a chairlift as her fellow skiers hang on for dear life. The incident occurred on Tuesday at Southern California’s Big Bear Mountain Resort.
In the video, captured and posted to Instagram by Pierce Mayer, the skier is shown dangling from the ski lift, assisted by two fellow riders holding on to her. As KTLA reports, she was able to make it to the top of the lift, where she was assisted down by ski patrol members. The unnamed woman reported to the videographer that she had emerged from the incident uninjured, although it was not made immediately clear what exactly caused the slip.
It’s been a busy season for chairlift mishaps. Just a few weeks ago, a 12-year-old snowboarder was spotted dangling from a chairlift at Mammoth Mountain. She was not as lucky as the woman seen in this week’s video, dropping from the lift and largely missing the safety equipment laid out by resort staff. Though she took a rough-looking fall, miraculously she walked away with no broken bones or major injuries.
