Gigi Wu, a 36-year-old woman known as the “Bikini Climber,” died after a fall in Taiwan’s Yushan National Park.

According to reports, it is suspected that she died of hypothermia. On Saturday, Wu called friends from a satellite phone to tell them she’d fallen into a ravine and was injured severely. She said she was unable to move the lower half of her body and estimated that she had fallen around 100 feet.

Rescue helicopters were quickly dispatched to her location, but due to bad weather, they were unable to get to her in time. After 28 hours, officials found her body on Monday. She was eight days into a 25-day solo hike when the accident occurred.

With more than 30,000 Instagram followers, Wu made a name for herself by changing into a bikini at the summit of the peaks she climbed to take a photo. She did, however, use proper gear and equipment during her hikes. According to the media, Wu first began taking the bikini selfies after losing a bet to a friend.

She had told Taiwanese television station FTV that she had climbed over 100 mountains in four years. “I put on a bikini in each one of the 100 mountains. I only have around 97 bikinis so I accidentally repeated some,” she said. “It just looks so beautiful, what’s not to like?”
