The Inertia

Generally, the team here at The Inertia Mountain is more for discovering backcountry powder stashes and bootpacking high-tide ridge lines than boosting sky high in the superpipe or setting competition-inclined records. But we also give credit where credit is due. And Joffrey Pollet-Villard finding himself an unconscionable 8.04 meters (or 26 feet, three inches) above the lip of a 22-foot superpipe definitely deserves credit.

Yep, this past week in Tignes, France, JPV launched himself above the previous world record held by Peter Olenick for 7.58 meters (or 24 feet, 11 inches) since 2010. There really isn’t much more to talk about other than the fact that he got UP — but that is impressive enough for us.
