This very well may be your first time hearing the name Iker Amatriain, but it certainly will not be the last. This 13-year-old ripper from the Basque Country is taking the world by storm and he’s already got the world’s best in his corner, including defending world champion, Gabriel Medina.
Any grom these days can fly down the line and throw a baby reverse, but few are able to do a proper turn or ride the barrel adequately. But not Iker. Iker is learning from the best and his surfing shows it. Plus, his entire family surfs, including his dad and surfing legend, Ibon Amatriain. If Iker keeps up this pace, you might be seeing him competing on the world tour a few years down the road and maybe in contention for the world title. Keep and eye out for this kid.
