The 2015 Drug Aware Margaret River Pro, stop number three on the 2015 Samsung Galaxy World Championship Tour, has officially kicked off. In the water now is Dusty Payne, Wiggoly Dantas, and a former Margaret River champion, John John Florence.
On the last stop on the Australian leg, contest directors have chose to kick off competition at the Box. Opposite to Margaret River’s Main Break, the Box is shallow right reef that offers large, slab-like barrels, which, given the extremely large swell, will undoubtedly prove to be a challenge for our competitors. Forecasters anticipate very strong surf to prevail throughout the day with a slight building trend from early morning to early afternoon. Expect massive barrels and brutal beatings, as waves are said to be in the 12-20’+ range.
