The Inertia

Maybe you’ve watched Red Bull’s surf feature, 21 Days, that typically follows two Championship Tour surfers through their preparations for a single stop on tour. The series is quite good, if not a bit serious. But, hey, these athletes are at the top of their game and world title campaigns are serious business.

To paint a picture, every good episode features countless time in the gym, assessing technique with a surf coach, and an abundance of fruits and vegetables – the body is a temple, etc.

You may recall that this year the World Surf League, in an effort to inject a bit of caffeine (figuratively and literally) into the CT and to give aerial specialists their own unique platform launched the Red Bull Airborne series. In the two stops thus far, punt specialist Ian Crane has been a major standout.

With just a few days until the Quiksilver Pro France kicks off in Hossegor, and with it, the third and final stop of the Red Bull Airborne series, Chris Coté and Ian hilariously take the piss out of the day-in-the-life series and the good old fashioned training montage.
