The Inertia

Jaws is a terrifying wave. It’s perfect–a huge wave that breaks like none other. It’s rare to find a wave that keeps its shape when things get massive, but Jaws is one of those diamonds in the rough. And today, the first ever WSL big wave event will run there.

Waves are forecasted to be in the 35-to-45 foot range. “Not only will this be an historic event at one of the most renowned waves on the planet, but we’re excited to be broadcasting it live for surf fans around the world,” Pete Mel said in a statement. The buoy readings are really strong and look to be well above the minimum requirement for a Big Wave event in the 35-to-45 foot range.”
