The Inertia

Seconds become minutes. Minutes turn into hours. Hours transpire into days. And time instantly passes by. In the surfing world, time is but a number. As you search for the perfect wave, you begin to disregard and lose track of time. Only to trace every moment as the end becomes near; making sure every second counts. Finding memories in places you weren’t expecting that shape your life journey. Time takes over again, and before you know it you’re back in the every day hustle and bustle of life.

627 Hours is a full-length film starring Matt McCabe, Chad Compton, Mike McCabe and Kellen Ellison. The documentary follows four professional surfers from Ventura, California on a month long surfing adventure just south of the border. From alarming run-ins with the cartel to breathtaking barrel and secret waves, this story is jam-packed with unexpected and thrilling experiences. After four weeks of blood, sweat, and surf the boys return to the US with a mind full of memories and a journey worth six hundred and twenty-seven hours of footage.

Through countless hours in the editing room and a combination of creative souls, a epic, twenty minute film was produced. Here is a sneak peek of Kellen Ellison.
