The Inertia

If you’ve logged onto Instagram at any point in the past few days, you already know Jaws went crazy over the weekend. It was the first massive swell to hit Hawaii in 2018 and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Aaron Gold did what Aaron Gold does, paddling into at least one wave that most people can’t even touch. It was almost two years ago to the day that Gold caught the biggest wave any human’s ever paddled into, so it was probably fitting that he gave us a reminder and tossed himself over the ledge of another massive Pe’ahi bomb.

Here are a handful of photos from that session, including Gold’s wave of the day and Kai Lenny and Nathan Florence slaying their own monsters, courtesy of The Inertia’s contributing photographer, Aaron Lynton.

You can find more of Lynton’s work on Instagram and here on The Inertia.
