Congratulations to Adriano de Souza, your 2015 Drug Aware Margaret River Pro champion.
In the 40-minute Final heat against Hawaiian John John Florence, the world tour veteran de Souza posted a heat total score of 17.53 against John’s 16.87, and walked away with a hard-earned victory by utilizing his impeccable frontside wrapping carves and gauging hacks at classic Main Break.
Conditions were absolutely immaculate on the final day down at the Margaret River Pro, as the waves rolled through in the 6 to 8-foot range, complimented by an ideal offshore wind, giving John John and Adriano the ability to put on an incredible show for the fans.

Adriano showed an immense amount of resilience throughout the entire event, as his performance consistently dominated his opponents. From the heaving barrels at the Box to the large open faces at Main Break, de Souza was surfing smart and confident, as he employed his impeccable form.
Making the Semifinal at Snapper, a Final at Bells, and taking the victory here at Margaret River, Adriano now sits as World No. 1, as he will be wearing the gold jersey heading into the Oi Rio Pro in Brazil on May 11th.
