When it comes to recognizable styles, there are only a handful of people who come to mind. Style is a funny thing. It’s impossible to really define yet incredibly obvious when someone’s got it, and Alex Knost has it in spades. There is no one else who surfs like him—sure, there are people who are influenced by how he surfs and sure, there are people who simply try and surf the way he does, but Knost just has a little extra. When it comes to filmmaking, Jack Coleman is in the same category. A Jack Coleman edit is as obvious as Knost’s style, and they pair very well together. Smooth, groovy, and easy on the eyes. Jack Coleman pointed his camera at Alex Knost and Justin Adams for Counter Balance, and it’s a few minutes of nothing more than wonderful surfing.
