A lot of guys are really good at surfing, but they’re usually organized into a few groups. For example, you’ve got your longboarders (so much soul!) and your shortboarders (progression!). But there are some who ride everything; surfers who think of surfing as the wave more than the board. Alex Knost is one of those guys. Give him anything: longboard, shortboard, single fin, thruster, alaia… whatever it is, chances are good that he’ll ride it really well – because he’s riding the wave more than the board.
