It’s easy to slap your name on a project and call it a day, leaving your involvement at the ceremonial contribution you’ve made. Involvement reaches a whole different level when you’re not only offering your name, but are taking time to actively participate in fulfilling the project’s mission. ASP pros Carissa Moore, Lakey Peterson, Miguel Pupo and Alejo Muniz decided to do just that on a lay day of the recent tour leg in Rio. With ASP’s Peter Mel, Pat Parnell, and CEO Paul Speaker, the team volunteered to join Waves for Water on a visit to Jardim Gramacho where they met with the locals, introducing filters to people who had never before in their lives had clean drinking water.
This is part of a larger partnership between W4W and the ASP that promises to implement clean water programs during every event of the season.
