Matt Shepherd sees the world more clearly under water. Indeed, he is most at home amongst the creatures of the sea, from the tiniest of shrimp to the largest rays and sharks. Through photography, he shares the art that lives beneath the surface, bringing it above sea level in tangible images that leave a taste of salt water on the viewer’s lips.
Matt has been diving with his camera for three years, plunging into deeper realms and travelling far from home to capture the stunning scenery hiding below. His backyard is the east coast of Australia and much of his work consists of this land and seascape, yet looking through his images, one can travel alongside Matt to Japan, Indonesia, Micronesia and beyond.
