Ben Gravy has seen pretty much every kind of wave you can imagine. He’s surfed calving glaciers in the arctic, mega tankers in South Carolina, about thirty different ferry waves and a wave in all 50 states. However, maybe his greatest accomplishment was surfing seven seas in seven days.
Though the whole thing happened a few years ago, but he just released a documentary detailing what went into the exploit. It’s an in-depth look into what actually goes into pulling off the kind of stunts we often take for granted when we see the finished product. It also gets into milestones that Gravy encountered in his personal life along the way, including a brutal injury that had kept him out of the water for months and the life-changing decision to foster a dog.
“During the build up and the trip itself I learned a lot about myself,” he explained in the caption. “I was able to sit down and talk to some of the people in my life that I love the most and it was extremely inspiring to hear what they had to say about my journey. Sometimes my mission in life is very clear, other times it’s less clear, but everyday I wake up I feel like I’m on the right path. Some days I only gain an inch, some days I actually lose ground, but I think what matters most is that I’m going in the right direction.”
The documentary is on YouTube in its entirety. Check it out below.
