The Inertia

In case you didn’t already know, San Francisco is a surf town. Just not the boardshorts and longboards type of beach town. More like wetsuits and step-ups. That said, if you were surfing on Black Friday this year, you probably reached for a semi-gun rather than a shortboard. With 15 to 18-foot waves pounding all three miles of beachbreak in SF’s Sunset District and nothing but offshore winds, this was an “experts only” day to say the least. Speaking of experts, at least one pro surfer made an appearance for the fun – Nat Young rolled in from Santa Cruz to score the awesome OB conditions. Which says a lot, because I’m sure it was pumping at The Lane, too.
