Back in 2014, Brad Domke burst on most mainstream surfers’ radar after mounting what to this day is the biggest wave ever ridden on a skimboard at maxing Puerto Escondido. In 2016, he took his skimboard to Jaws and secured an XXL ride of the year entry. Point being, the guy’s got a flair for the harrowing that demands a certain level of respect.
As it happens, Domke’s a pretty decent surfer, too. The same year he braved giants in Maui, Domke and crew also released a skim-only Bali edit aptly titled “Skimdonesia.” While there, though, Brad split time between riding his skimboard and riding his surfboard. Footage of the latter remained on a hard drive somewhere gathering digital dust. Until now.
