It’s that time of year again. Winter is just around the corner, with stormy, cold conditions and pumping waves in the forecast. Strike A strike team consisting of Brett Barley, Noah Wegrich, and Timmy Reyes, decided to get the cold water games started early this season and took a little trip north to Alaska.
With raw, open-ocean swells and plenty of coastline to explore, Alaska could be the last American surfing frontier. The coastline has been documented and waves have been identified, but the need for boots, gloves, and thick rubber in the summer and no-don’t-even-think-about-surfing water temperatures in the winter tend to keep the lineups pretty uncrowded. Follow along as the squad takes on the best that summertime Alaska has to offer, namely raw, heaving shorebreaks and ferocious currents.
