The Inertia

Winter in Hawaii came a little early this year. Every year, the North Pacific is responsible for generating swells of consequence that ultimately make their way to the North Shore of Oahu in the winter months of the northern hemisphere. The NPAC is typically most active in the dead of winter (e.g. December and January), but for those Pipe chargers hoping for an early season moment to get the bugs out, test new equipment, and generally get seriously barreled, an early season swell did not disappoint. Here’s a legendary October day at Pipe looking beautiful and not too threatening from the air. From the water is another story.
