The Inertia

By this point, Jet Skis have become an integral part of surfing. Ever since Laird Hamilton, Darrick Doerner and Buzzy Kerbox first whipped into a wave on the north shore of Oahu, the ascension of tow-in surfing has transformed the personal watercraft into a key tool in the big wave surfer’s toolbox. They also have been used to save many a surfer from destruction at the hands of a multi-wave hold-down.

But do they have enough style?

Imagine whipping into a DOH bomb behind a Lambo… well, a miniature fiberglass replica of a Lambo bolted onto a Jet Ski. That’s what Miami, Florida company Watersports Car promises its customers, with an entire lineup of two-seater personal watercraft designed to mimic supercars. Though they don’t have any copyright-infringing badges, the models are clear (and fairly faithful) replicas of a number of popular cars, including a Lamborghini Aventador, a Ferrari Laferarri and a Bugatti Veyron roadster. You’ll pay a pretty penny for the luxury, though – anywhere from $66,000 to $84,000.

So, there you have it. For the low, low price of a house downpayment, you can feel like you’re in an episode of Miami Vice – but not the parts where they drive boats, the parts where they drive the white Testarossa.

It doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, but it’s awesome.
