In continuing Nixon’s long-standing tradition, newest members are only admitted to the team after a positive vote by the current Nixon team roster, including John John Florence, Bruce Irons, Dusty Payne and a few others. It was no surprise that the current gang gave him the thumbs up, given his amazing surfing abilities and the incessant pressure from every apparel brand wanting him to sport their gear. Hats, socks, wetties, shoes, sunnies, and budgie smugglers; Chippa is a walking billboard and it was only natural for Nixon to pick him up. Not to mention, Nixon watches perfectly compliment his swag while he’s mobbing around in classic trucks and custom bikes. But looking fresh is only half of being a professional surfing. The other half is… you guessed it: talent. And Chippa’s got plenty of it.
