Chris Hemsworth, Australian actor you may know as Thor, and surfer, who’s buddies with Kelly Slater, did a solid the other day when he picked up American musician-climber, Scott Hildebrand in Brisbane as the traveler was making his way to Byron Bay. But instead of the two-hour drive, down to the not-so-cheap beach town, Thor surprised Hildebrand with a free heli ride.
And Hildebrand has also seen an unexpected interest in his music thanks to the Instagram bump from Hemsworth and the subsequent stories that have followed in the Australian press. Hemsworth is a regular at Tavarua, and of course, the Surf Ranch. The regular-footer, Hemsworth, took care of the traveler, stoking out the little-known musican. “We were having good chats and they were just asking about my music and they seemed really down to earth and chilled,” said Hildebrand, who didn’t actually recognize Hemsworth. “I’ve already seen a lot of support and a lot of people have been listening to my music now on Spotify and Apple Music; it’s been really cool.”
