Often times, when it’s really pumping, you’re going head first into a beating. And you know it. Pulling on the hood to your 5/4/3, you’re bleary eyed perspective of the ocean is as shaky as the early morning legs you hoisted yourself onto. But then you hit the water, and all that bleary-eyed shakiness is washed away as forcefully as the waves heaving overhead. It is in that moment that Dane Zaun remembers why he sets his alarm so early.
