About a half hour from Sydney, there’s a wave that only breaks properly every two or three years. It’s a bit of a mythical place — a wave that people talk about but aren’t able to surf when it’s doing what it does best. That wave, of course, is Deadman’s, and it recently fired up (the date at the 2:50 mark is off, just FYI).
The swell event was a well-anticipated one, and those who were interested made sure to be there. One of the people who was interested was Tim Bonython of Surfing Visions, a man who makes absolutely sure he’s on hand for some of the best swells all over the world. And this swell at Deadman’s measured up to his expectations.
