Jamaican surfers have Olympic dreams. And if there’s anything we’ve learned from the debut of the Caribbean nation’s bobsled team in the 1988 Calgary Olympics, nothing can stand between Jamaica and Olympic ambitions.

Compared to the histories of U.S., Australian, or Brazilian surf culture, Jamaican surfing is very much a recent development. But, under the guidance of Billy “Mystic” Wilmot, the godfather of Jamaican surfing, a new generation of Jamaican surfers are making up for lost time.
