The Inertia

At this rate, there’s going to be more waves in the Middle East than Hawaii. Yet another announcement has come down the pipeline of a wave pool breaking ground in the region – this time in Saudi Arabia.

The facility is called Adrena. According to a press release from the developer, Red Sea Global, the facility will house a 700-foot-long saltwater surf pool, will promises to be the largest in Saudi Arabia. Like many similar facilities, the Endless Surf-powered waves can reach a height of around seven feet and are customizable according to the rider’s skill level and preferences.

“Our unique adventure and entertainment district isn’t just about offering thrilling experiences, it’s about embodying the freedom of a coastal lifestyle – the energy, the community, the connection with nature. We’ve built ADRENA with sustainability at its core, demonstrating our commitment to regenerative tourism and ensuring an unforgettable experience for every guest, day and night. We look forward to welcoming visitors in the coming weeks,” said John Pagano, Group CEO of Red Sea Global.

On social media, Endless Surf released a snippet of video of the wave in action, along with a cryptic promise for more information to come. “The swell has arrived in an unlikely location,” wrote the company in an Instagram caption. “A first glimpse at the world’s newest Endless Surf lagoon, in one of the most ambitious surf park projects to date at Adrena. Stay tuned as we reveal more on what’s taken shape along Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea. More waves are on tap.”
