Three episodes into its second season and we can honestly say we’re thoroughly enjoying Dylan Graves’ web series Weird Waves. After vicariously following Graves from Alaska to Nigeria and now to Barreiro, Portugal, we’ve certainly enjoyed the novelty of glacier waves, jetty wedges, and ferry waves. But, more enjoyable are the folks who call these places home who are arguably more stoked than many at well-known surf zones with plentiful waves.
For this installment, as we said, Graves heads to Portugal to ride a wave that’s been dubbed Gaso-Line after the ferry line that carts commuters from Barreiro to neighboring Lisbon for the work-day. On this trip, the Weird Waves crew had the unfortunate luck of arriving in the middle of a Portuguese gas strike – but they weren’t to be deterred.
