In 2014, during an interview for the Wave of the Winter competition, Mason Ho gave one hilarious cut where he laid out, in vivid detail, his absolute dream wave. And it was every 16-year-old’s fantasy come to life, complete with beautiful boogie boarding goddess that Ho scoops into his barrel-riding arms and makes lovely music with while covered deep within the tube.
Well, Los Angeles-based punk band FIDLAR–known partially for its bizarre YouTube videos (and music)–rebooted Ho’s interview with the help of Jonathan Atchley, giving life to Ho’s X-rated dream wave. And it’s pretty spot on and a good excuse to revisit a classic interview from one of surfing’s favorite characters.
