The Inertia

Wavegarden’s research and development facility located somewhere in the hills of the Spanish Basque Country has an air of Batman mythology to it. But, instead of a cave loaded with experimental technology emblazoned with a bat silhouette, a slew of European engineers spend their days tinkering with different artificial wave designs. Wavegarden, as you likely recall, developed the technology now employed at Surf Snowdonia and NLand in Austin, Texas. Not satisfied, they also created their “Cove” technology that’s more compact and serves up more waves per minute.

While in Europe, Filipe Toledo and crew decided to make their annual pilgrimage to Wavegarden’s R+D facility to test out The Cove’s new slab. Toledo likens the barrel to V-Land. How’s that for a stamp of approval?
