The fact that not a single Brazilian made the finals at J-Bay doesn’t make any sense. Between world number one, Adriano de Souza, and the unstoppable freak of nature that is Filipe Toledo – not to mention Alejo Muniz’s incredible comeback run – our money and eyes were on team Brazil. But in their defense, the Australians were on point, to say the very least. It’s a shame we weren’t able to see Mick and Jules properly duke it out in that final. Seriously, fuck that shark. Nonetheless, jerseys on and off, the Brazilians tore the lid off every wave that came within their reach.
