The Inertia

Did you know that the longboarding World Championship came down to a surf off back in early December? It did, and it’s only the second time in WSL history. Since it’s longboarding, though, no one really noticed. One of the guys involved in that final was the man you see above, Edouard Delpero.

Really good longboarders are often really good at surfing on, well, anything. The likelihood that a great longboarder is great on a shortboard is much higher than a great shortboarder is great on a longboard. Delpero is a perfect example of that–heaving French beach breaks are some of the most difficult waves to navigate. Delpero, on boards much shorter than the ones he rode in the longboard championships, is absolutely charging.
