Bali has not been easy on the lower extremities of the world’s best surfers. John John is out of competition indefinitely after rage punting in a freesurfing session following his loss at Keramas. Jordy Smith landed in jarring fashion but came out unscathed while Gabriel Medina perhaps experienced the most visibly-ugly landing yet, as his back foot slipped off his board following an alley-oop attempt, extending his front leg in extremely awkward fashion.
Ryan Williams pieced together this brilliant mashup on location and commented on the fate of the world’s finest wave riding athletes. No word on Gab’s knee and whether it’ll affect his competing at Margeret River….er Uluwatu. We’ll keep you posted.
