The Inertia

Whether you like kiteboarding or not, you have to respect how big these boys go. Stoke respects stoke, and these kiteboarders are allowing themselves to get dragged umpteen feet in the air by a couple strings hoping that these strings hold strong when they come crashing back down — which they don’t always do, occasionally lending to a couple broken bones or torn cartilage and tendons.

After 10 years of competing, and becoming world champion in 2009, Kevin Langeree had little left to accomplish. But what was left was the Red Bull King of the Air, and it alone meant the world to him. Despite claiming the world title for his own, his mother had fallen ill with breast cancer, so much of his “celebration” was spent with her in chemo. So he made a promise to his ailing mother that they would celebrate for real once more when she was better. And in 2014 they were able to do just that.
