The globe-trottin’ surfers were stuck in a heavy current of contests, training, and appearances or other sponsor demands. They needed a break. So they took to Nicaragua, tore up any semblance of itineraries, and dove into the break head first, paddling out for a couple intense sessions that now make up this epic edit.
This is not to say that Eric Geiselman, Billy Stairmand, and Perth Standlick deserve our sympathies in any way — getting flown the world over to surf isn’t by any means a rough way to go about life — but it’s nice to see them loosen up for a moment and show us why their qualification for the WCT is rather imminent. C’mon, Eric is literally flipping over with joy.
