The Inertia

Rasta has always marched to the beat of a different drum. For a while, Dave dabbled in the occasional competition around Australia as a junior, but it didn’t turn out to be quite his cup of tea. Rather, Dave took a slightly different path, as his love for surfing manifested in him a passionate social and environmental awareness. Now Dave’s handsome mug can be seen on the forefront of a myriad of different causes and organizations. From protesting whaling in Japan to raising awareness to the deterioration of the Great Barrier Reef, if it’s fucked up, Dave is doing something about it.

So how did Rasta develop such a vigorous social and environmental awareness? Well, it had a lot to with the salty old dudes that surfed around the Gold Coast. The simple, cruisey life that a few guys around town were living, namely Brenden ” Margo” Margieson, served as in inspiration to who Rasta would become. But throughout the course of his purposeful life, there’s one thing that has remained timeless and unchanged: a fiery passion and genuine enthusiasm for all things surf. Check out Rasta sit down with Ronnie Blakey and lay all cards on the table. And how was that tube at the :52 marker? Screw Donal Trump—Rasta for president!
