In June of 2011, Ian Parkinson lost both of his legs when he stepped on an IED while patrolling in Kandahar, Afghanistan. Since then, Ian has endured twenty-four major operations and spent two years in rehabilitation. In March 2012, Ian, who now calls himself Sergeant Stubbs, stepped back on his skateboard for the first time, determined to re-learn his lifelong passion of skateboarding. “Getting back on a skateboard was liberating, “ Ian told MailOnline. “To me, it solidified the notion that anything is possible regardless of physical deficiencies.” Sergeant Stubbs’ story is inspiring, motivational and simply awesome on so many levels.
