Is there a worse feeling in surfing than missing a clean, yawning barrel? Aside from drastic situations, we submit there is not. However, we may all take solace in the fact that it happens to everyone. We just hope, for his sake, that this wasn’t a rogue wave.
Congratulations, @tyler_daniel on capturing this moment and sharing it with us. While he may have never threaded that square-ish, below-sea-level barrel anyway, it’s always nice to sit and wonder, “what if?” And we bet that’s exactly what dude in the foreground did for the rest of that session. Regardless, here’s hoping this nameless surfer scored one just like it shortly after this.
