Jaleesa Vincent has a truly unique voice in the world of surfing, and now she’s going to be joining the Volcom roster.
“Today, Volcom is proud to welcome Aussie surf artist Jaleesa Vincent to the team,” wrote the Costa Mesa-based boardsports lifestyle brand in a press release. “More than just a surfer, Jaleesa is a true creative force surfing, making art, films, writing music, and redefining what it means to live an authentic, integrated life.”
Hailing from the Sunshine Coast of Queensland, Australia, Vincent is a true multi-hyphenate, and it shows in her surfing. For instance, for her 2022 edit “Macaroni in the Pot,” she not only ripped up a series of waves at Macaroni’s in the Mentawai Islands, but also directed the video, animated the interstitials, rode boards from her own label, and scored the video with music from her band Cupid and the Stupids. Her talents also include painting, poetry, tap dancing, making jewelry, and taxidermy.
“I’m stoked to be riding with Volcom,” said Jaleesa. “For me it’s not just about surfing, it’s about living fully, expressing what feels real, and carving a little space for wild creativity in everything I do. To me, the ocean, art, music and life aren’t separate and Volcom share’s that ideology.”
“Jaleesa brings an authenticity, a creative edge and a surfing style that resonates deeply with Volcom,” added the brand. “We’re excited to support her journey creating across all creative mediums and inspiring others.”
