What’s a Supsquatch, you ask? Well, let Jamie O’Brien show ya. It’s a giant board that fits about as many people who want to risk breaking their neck as possible safely onto its surface. Then, through a combination of shared joy and terror, it enables its participants to charge gigantor waves with a type of group courage and teamsmanship typically reserved for Super Bowls, World Cups, and pride parades.

“I didn’t know what I was getting myself into,” said O’Brien. “And neither did my friends…I put these guys in the heaviest predicament of their lives in Makaha.”

But damn does it look fun. Our own editorial team was lucky enough to take a Supsquatch out to Makaha this winter with the C4 Watermen team, and we only left with one stitch-worthy injury. It was awesome.

In this brand spanking-new episode of Jamie O’Brien’s Who Is JOB 5, he and the team charge Sunset, Waimea Shorebreak, and Makaha on their Supsquatch, and maybe even break a record (no bones…we don’t think) along the way. Enjoy. Jamie O’Brien and his team are an entertaining bunch.

Seemed like a good idea at the time…
