Jamie O’Brien knows the Waimea River wave better than perhaps anyone else. When it’s on, he’s there, even if the waves in the ocean are pumping. Maybe that’s because he’s surfed enough pumping waves on the North Shore to last a lifetime or maybe it’s because he’s just into riding waves no matter the size, but whatever the case may be, Jamie O’Brien is a fan of the river wave.
This particular session comes after a hairy night session with Ben Gravy. And while it was definitely not at the size that it was a few nights previous, it was still a real good time. And then, as you likely suspected, Jamie made his way to Pipeline, where he did things on waves that most people can’t do.
