The Inertia

A few weeks ago, the same powerful swell that hit Teahupo’o finally made its way to Hawaii. At the time, an edit from Reveal Hawaii Media captured the action, with a few familiar faces popping up in the lineup. While Jamie O’Brien did make a brief appearance in the edit, we weren’t treated to the full JOB experience of a powerful Waikiki swell.

Until now.

In his latest YouTube video, O’Brien provided his own edit of what he’s calling the biggest day of the summer at Waikiki, with a session at Ala Moana Bowls.

“Bowls is probably one of the biggest days of the summer,” explained O’Brien as he drove through town. Then, once he arrived, he broke down the signs that it was going to be an epic session. “You know it’s big when the water is all the way up in the park,” he explained, pointing out the flooded area, directly next to a raft of floating debris in the water.

The day turned out to be epic indeed, although perhaps a touch under the fireworks JOB was hoping for. “Epic surf session. Beautiful day, here at Ala Moana Bowls,” he concluded afterwards. “I was hoping to get a real big barrel, but all in all, some super fun waves.”
