The Inertia

It’s the pirate’s life for Jamie O’Brien. Hot on his heels from a mission to Skeleton Bay (which already sounds like a plot point from a lesser Pirates of the Caribbean movie), Jamie found himself staring off into the distance at a shipwreck that was ripe for plundering.

JOB and crew launched an exploratory drone to check out the conditions, which provided some wild footage of the wreck, including a colony of birds that had taken residence on it. Satisfied that the ship was indeed wrecked, the gang took to the waves. Sure, conditions weren’t ideal, and there was a sketchy current at work, but how often do you get to surf next to a honest-to-goodness shipwreck?

“I always try to tell myself, ‘If I saw this wave at home, would I surf it?'” said one member of the squad as they talked themselves into surfing the wreck, “and the answer is ‘All day long.'”
