The hits keep on coming out of Pipeline, this time quite literally. Surf vlogger Jamie O’Brien posted a raw POV video from the storied wave that gave another inside look at a spot most amateurs wouldn’t even dare to approach. The session starts off with the Pipe aficionado making the rounds in the lineup, shaking hands and greeting other regulars like a local politician. There were also appearances from a handful of famous faces, including Carissa Moore and not one, but two Florence brothers.
After that, it was time for business. Jamie wasted no time in getting into a few barrels, which is when the POV footage really gets its moment to shine. Then, around the 18-minute mark, he hops on a ride that culminates in fighting his way back out through an entire set. His look into the camera as a wall of whitewater approaches him says it all: Those waves may seem inviting in a highlight reel, but even the pros eventually have to pay the toll.
