John John Florence isn’t usually a man of mystery, but he dropped a big question mark on social media. It seems to be a new film entitled Space. “Coming soon,” is all JJF wrote, throwing his fans into a frenzy.
Florence seems to be a person who doesn’t exactly enjoy the spotlight but doesn’t exactly shy away from it, either. One gets the feeling that he would be fine without the surf world’s adoration, but one also gets the feeling that John John Florence is well-aware of his status in our little corner of sports. He realizes that he’s got to keep with the times, lest fans lose interest. Great surfing, after all, can only get you so far. Relevance only sticks around if the portfolio is diverse and the flames of interest are constantly fanned. So while he’s been away from the contest circuit with a knee full of shredded spaghetti, he’s been focusing on other things, like the Molokai 2 Oahu race. But what really fans the flames? Intrigue and mystery, of course!
So while we don’t know much about what Space is, we do know it’s coming soon. And color us intrigued!
