December 7th on the North Shore wasn’t exactly user-friendly. Everything felt mixed up, the ocean was angry, and the crowds were relatively thin. There were, of course, a few gems sliding through, but it takes a certain type of person find himself on one of them. John John Florence is that certain type of person.
Lachlan McKinnon (@happilystoked) pointed his camera at the People’s Champ as he paddled into a Backdoor bomb, jammed both arms in, set a line, and stood up tall. It’s the 22nd entry for Surfline’s Wave of the Winter, and we’re not sure that it’s going to be beaten any time soon.
