Fans of go-for-broke power surfing are bummed to hear that their favorite South African wave-destroyer will not be competing in this year’s Quik Pro France. Jordy Smith has officially pulled out of the event due to an injury. But in lieu of Jordy donning a jersey, O’Neill has released a clip of free surfs from the South African’s European leg of last year’s tour. It’s a friendly reminder of Jordy’s absolute domination in the beachbreaks of Europe and a look at what could’ve been. Like a foot soldier storming the beach at Normandy, Jordy lays it all on the line in France. We hope that he makes a smooth recovery so we can see him do it again next year.
