You already know that Jordy Smith is a fantastic surfer. He’s a consistent threat to everyone on the tour. It’s funny, though–watching WCT events has a way of dampening the skill level. When everyone on tour surfs at a certain level, it takes a lot to stand out. That’s why edits like the one above are so great. Jordy’s surfing at Lowers (the whole thing was shot in one day over two sessions) is arguably one of the best performances at Southern California’s most famous wave. When free surfs look like this, there’s no better spectacle… except, of course, watching from the lineup. Rumor has it that after this session, the sea level dropped three feet.
