Novelty waves. So hot right now. A new video from Kai Lenny opens up with him walking down an Indonesian beach, on the way to a novelty break with an especially promising air section.
It delivered in a spectacular fashion, with Kai taking to the air in glorious slow-motion. However Kai soon found himself in need of another ride. “If you’ve ever been to Indonesia, you’ll know that the tides really affect the surf,” he narrates in the video. “When one wave turns off, another wave turns on, so we set off on another adventure to find the next spot.” After a detour to play in the tide pools with his family, Lenny was joined by his wife for a picturesque surf on a beautiful left. However, he then hauled out a SUP, in a move that is sure bring tears of rage to the eyes of some of the more sensitive surfers out there.
All in all, it looks like an excursion that couldn’t have gone better. “There are certain days that stand out, this was one of them,” writes Kai in the description. “To be able to visit this beach and wave was incredible. Might’ve been one of the nicest places I have ever seen.”
