When Jaws fires, there’s no wave quite like it. It’s similar to a regular reef break, only it’s gigantic. And on January 8, it was pretty ridiculous.
As is generally the case when Jaws gets ridiculous, the lineup was full of familiar faces. Billy Kemper was there, as was Kai Lenny and other Peahi locals and regulars. According to Surfers of Hawaii, wave heights were in the 20-25-foot range, and it’s safe to say that it was yet another day that will reside in the memory banks of those who lived it for a long, long time.
