Remember when foamies were considered lame? The tell tale sign of a beginner? That was back when surfing took itself too seriously. There’s since been a change of heart (sort of). Nobody’s taking out a soft top on tour. But, at least now there’s some general acceptance when you paddle one out just for kicks. After all, if you’re riding a foamie you’re not taking yourself too seriously, right? Why should anyone else?
Kalani Robb and Tyler Stanaland are the kind of guys that don’t take themselves too seriously, which explains why they call themselves 2 Kooks. Here they head to Japan, armed with some Catch Surf foam boards, and let loose on a decent run of swell.
